When it comes to choosing the spam filter that you purchase for your organization you will have a number of different main options:
With so many options to choose from it can be a daunting task picking just one.For the business sector there is a lot you can do to prevent the spam attacks that are bound to be targeting your company.
Here’s a list of the steps that we advise you to take in order to give your organization the best security possible.
Some spam filter software solutions report a spam detection rate of 99.97% when the process known as Greylisting is used. This is a process whereby all mails are returned to the mail server that they originated from with a request to be resent. The reason for this is that spam email servers rarely check requests like this.
Using this greylisting process in tandem with spam filters means that you will be blocking spam that is snetf from an known source while also giving your group the best chance of blocking spam from an unknown source. In some cases this can slow some important business email but the time lag should be no more than five minutes. In addition to this you can add some email addresses and domains to a whitelist of email addresses that will not be subjected to this treatment.
There is also an option to use an outbound mail filter. It is wise to do so as your network may have been infiltrated, unbeknownst to you, and a hacker could be sending email to try and attack your contacts or steal bank transfers intended for you. You do not want this to happen as it could result in your domain making it to the dreaded blacklist and will stop important business emails from making it to your contacts.
